The wand design is meant to separate and coat n’ curl the individual lashes, whilst still having that glamorous Hollywood 50’s silhouette. The packaging we love, and the product is just as fabulous.

2 – Benefit They’re Real! Mascara

Just to show you exact how popular this particular mascara is, as well as being voted one of the best mascaras 2016 by millions of women, one tube of the stuff is sold every 15 seconds within the United Kingdom ALONE. That’s a lot of mascara!

The wand design is meant to add volume, lift, curl, and lengthen, and we were so won over by the look and sound of this, we went out to buy one ourselves. The first time one of the members in the CherryCherryBeauty den wore it, she received three compliments of the course of the day. Now the entire den owns a tube!

3 – Dior Diorshow Iconic Extreme Lash Curling Mascara

Within this mascara, you’ll find a little boost of vitamin K, perfect for fixing your eyelashes, and helping them to grow longer, stronger, and packed with all the hydration and nutrition they need.

It’s a slightly rounded brush, and it easily comes off with your regular make-up remover or warm water. It does have a tendency to flake a little, or that’s what we found when we used it, but if it’s curl you’re looking for, it’s curl you’re going to get.

4 – Max Factor Voluptuous False Lash Effect Mascara

This one has a twisted brush, which actually helps you to grab all the lashes and coat them all evenly. You can have 360 degree rotation and application, and although we didn’t think much of the brush shape at first, it does actually do the trick quite well.

If you have a hard time with your mascara wand, try bending it so that the brush itself is at an almost 45 degree angle. It’s much easier to apply to your lashes at this angle, and you’ll find the brush head is pretty flexible. If it breaks, you can always buy replacement and disposable mascara wands. You see – there’s a solution for every problem.

5 – Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils Luxurious Mascara

If it’s a false lash effect you want, it’s a false lash effect you’re going to get with this little YSL delight – one of the best mascaras 2016 simply for the luxurious gold packaging alone!

The brush is a very traditional mascara brush, something that is often overlooked in today’s technology, and it doesn’t cause that nasty spider lash look. With essential oils, the formula will hydrate and nourish your eyelashes as it lengthens them. It’s basically everything you could want in a mascara.

Available in a range of colours, we found this one on Boots – £25.00 – click image for more details.

6 – Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes Mascara

It’s a 5-in-1 mascara that gives you not only curl and drama, but volume, separation, and length too. The Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes mascara has a traditional shaped wand, and has been inspired by the constantly changing seasons.

Always have a tissue to hand when you’re applying your mascara, and we’re not just talking for when you inevitably rub the wand against your face and smudge it all everywhere. You can use the tissue to get rid of any clumps, not relying on the ring of the mascara tube itself, saving the tube from gloop.

7 – Rimmel 100% Waterproof Mascara

It’s a cheapie but a goodie, and after a few minutes of discussion within the CherryCherryBeauty den, it soon became apparent that all of us, at some point, had used and loved a particular Rimmel mascara. They’re good mascaras in general, but we think their 100% waterproof mascara is one of the best mascaras 2016.

When you’ve applied your regular mascara in the morning, add a quick coat of waterproof mascara afterwards. Why? Because it’ll give you an added layer of protection.

Some women don’t like using waterproof mascara, and if we’re being honest, our den is full of women just like this. By adding this quick slick at the end, you’re still getting that smudge-proof protection, but at the same time you’re not weighed down with regular waterproof mascara, which often doesn’t give you the lash-look you want.

8 – Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara

Every girl needs a really good waterproof mascara in their life. What else are you going to wear when your boyfriend finally takes you to see that soppy film you’ve been wanting to go and see for ages? We like the Clinique High Impact Waterproof Mascara, a mascara that for once doesn’t clump, smudge, or flake.

9 – Benefit BADgal Mascara

We know, it’s the second Benefit mascara in our collection, but we think this one deserves a place on the spot. The reason we’re saying that is because it’s the writer’s favourite ever mascara! 😉

It has a traditionally-shaped brush, and it really does coat your lashes to make them look plump and glamorous. As it says, good girls: wear at your own risk.

Oh, and do you coat the tops of your lashes as well as the bottom of them? You’re missing a trick if you don’t. Start by applying mascara to the tops, pushing them down. Then use your wand to brush them back up again, coating the bottom. It takes just a moment.

10 – Nars Audacious Mascara

This mascara is one of the best mascaras 2016 if you really like the modern-style of brushes. We really loved the simple and yet expensive-looking packaging, and with over 200 lengthening hooks and moulded bristles, you get an amplifying, separating, and lengthening action that has received rave reviews from beauty bloggers.

As you’re applying your mascara, wriggle the brush a little from side to side to ensure you’re getting to, and coating, every single lash. Work your way from the lash line to the ends of the lashes, wriggling as you go, and you’ll find the end result looks much better than just an swooping-up action.
